Fire!! Save... the exams papers!

Just sharing...

We had our Microbiology exams (theory and practical) today and all of us were literally beaten with full classes, presentations and exams over the pass few days. Most of us only had a few hours of sleep and we were practically studying the whole time in between (it's exam week next week.. so, you get my point~)

And I started another episode of "studying while sleeping" where i can't really sleep cause all of the things I studied amazingly "refresh" themselves in my brain just as I lay my head.

So...

Drowsy, sleepy and exhausted... we went for our theory exams and gosh the questions were tricky. But nonetheless, we somehow successfully "nailed" every questions with our amazing God given instincts and talent to spot the answers even when we don't know what it is. (please be reminded that a right or wrong answer is very subjective, and I refuse to tamper with the law of nature~)

Out of the exams hall...

We waited for the next practical exam while revising the notes one last time hoping that we were miraculously blessed with an "instant" photographic memory this time. But.. all of a sudden...

FIRE!!

The campus was literally on fire! (well, turns out it was just a fuse box but a fire is still a fire...)

Everyone was panicking... tensions run high... sympathetic nerves activated ... vasoconstrictions... tachycardia... blood rushing through our heads... and we ran...

We all ran for our safety but that's when I saw something...

In the midst of chaos... one of my lecturers ran, though not to save her life... but to save our exam papers! She actually ran down flights of stairs holding on to the papers as though it was her life... If that's not dedication... I don't know what else is...

There were also some lecturers running out with their laptops... which of course contain hundreds of other future exam questions...

Amazing.. truly amazing...

Stories cut short... the fire was put out and we went back inside...

But our day was not over yet because remember the other exam we were suppose to take?

Well...

We had to take the exam of course... and with our brains contaminated with fumes of the burning fuse box... I would say we all did good...

After the exams we had a "Surgery" lecture of strictures and life went on as usual...

So.. what do we learn today?

Knowledge is very important! Even if you are at a life threatening situation, remember one thing...

Save the exam papers!

Gleeing Over Glee~

The TV show "Glee" premiered last summer after the season finale of American Idol and since then it has become a pandemic for all... it's way more infectious than the H1N1 virus and has captured the heart of audiences worldwide with its charms...

Glee has everything that is needed in a TV show.. humor, romance, sarcasm, chemistry... but most of all - MUSIC!

But unlike the usual musical we have on TV, Glee doesn't have its casts singing their dialogues throughout the episodes (like the HSM franchise) but rather singing during their Glee Club practices and performances. This is probably why Glee is different from other musical comedies...

So.. let's start with the second episode review... please do not read any further if you don't want to be spoiled~

Here are my favorite moments of the second episode - Showmance:

  • The part when Kurt says "One day you will all work for me..." and then BAMN... he's being tossed into the huge bin...
  • When Mr S screamed at his dining table during Terri's sister's visit... gotta love him~
  • Sue and Mr S's dialogues :
Sue : Iron tablets?
Mr S : aaaa
Sue : Keep your strength up boy.. you're menstruating
Mr S : (confused) I don't menstruate...
Sue : Yeah? Neither do I...

LOL.. Sue is probably the best protagonist ever!

  • I LOVE the "Gold Digger" performance! Mr S can really really dance! And it's hilarious (...and sweet) when Mr S was holding Finn's leg trying to make it move according to the beat because Cory Monteith (the actor who played Finn) admitted that he really can't dance~
  • Gotta love the pamphlets in Emma's office
Ouch! That stings!
I can't stop touching myself!
Radon : The Silent Killer
My Mom's Bipolar and She Won't Stop Yelling!
Wow! There's a hair down there! (definitely my personal favorite :P)
So, you like throwing up~

  • Finn's first driving experience~
  • When Emma helped Mr S with his janitorial works (marry her Schu!)
  • The "Push It" performance! Priceless! Followed by Sue's comment "That is the most offensive thing I've seen in 20 years of teaching and that includes an elementary school's production of Hair"
  • When Finn kissed Rachel!
  • When Sue pwned Quinn:
Sue : We're gonna bring this club down from within...
Quinn : And I'm gonna get my boyfriend back...
Sue : I don't care so much about that~

  • Rachel's cover of "Take a Bow"
But there are also parts that I hate in this episode:

  • Anything and everything that's got to do with Terri... please please get rid of her!
  • Quinn's cover of "Say a Little Prayer"... that cherio can't sing!
So there you have it. My rant of pretty much my loves and hatreds of the second episode... Can't wait for the new episode next week!

GLEEK for live!

Music Obsession Part 4

It's been a while since I've posted some great musics in my blog and I guess it's time to do so again...

So, I was browsing through Youtube again the other day and I believed I've found a treasure! A channel called KurtHugoSchneider is probably one of the best original music channel in Youtube. It's a collaborations of four Yale's arts students who direct, arrange and composed musics on their own. Should I add that they also have MAJOR singing talent which will blow your mind away.

The main soloist is Sam Tsui who is a member of Yale's a cappella group that won this year's ICCA. Though he looked pretty g** but I'm totally obsessed with his voice. He has these amazing range that will melt your heart away.

Here's a prove of Sam at his best... (the mind blowing arrangement is by his friend Kurt Schneider)

Another great arrangement and vocal performance by Sam and Kurt (really reminds me of Glee)

And here are some of Sam's best covers:

And to top it all... Kurt is also doing his directing project on a mini Youtube series called "College Musical"... very HSM but with better vocals... here's the first episode:

I really hope you like my post this time and if you do please show your support by subscribing to the channel on Youtube...

I gotta say I'm a typical or rather an old fashion kind of girl...

blogger-emoticon.blogspot.com

I believe if BFFs... I believe that friendships worth more than relationships...

and I believe in loyalty...

unfortunately...

finding true friends is not easy...

blogger-emoticon.blogspot.com

blogger-emoticon.blogspot.comblogger-emoticon.blogspot.com

some people can't be trusted... they carry knives behind their back...

blogger-emoticon.blogspot.com

and when the times right (or should I say wrong?)... they'll stab you...

blogger-emoticon.blogspot.com

loyalty isn't easy...

you can pledge a bond is forever...

blogger-emoticon.blogspot.com

but even the strongest bond can be broken...

how long do you think this will last?

blogger-emoticon.blogspot.com

betrayal is easy...

:ha?:

why you ask?

well... how hard is it take to forget the deeds of others when you're happy?

blogger-emoticon.blogspot.com

how hard is it to b**** about someone when you're in a little fight?

:please:

declaring a friendship is easy...

blogger-emoticon.blogspot.com

but how do you know you're not only declaring a friendship based purely on sympathy, or just as a thank you?

blogger-emoticon.blogspot.com

maintaining a friendship is tough...

It's bloody tough...

blogger-emoticon.blogspot.com

But when you have someone who would talk to you like she used to even after months of silence...

:anongnangyari:

listening to you after months of absence...

blogger-emoticon.blogspot.com

Then you'll know you have someone you can call

a friend..

I'm forever grateful that I've found mine...

blogger-emoticon.blogspot.com

not one, not two... but all SIX of them...

blogger-emoticon.blogspot.com

but there used to be more... or so I thought...

well... life's sucks...

Movie Review 7 : District 9

I was really excited to see a new movie poster up on the "Anggrek 21" billboard after being continuously disappointed by the same movie that's been dominating the billboard for a really really long time...

blogger-emoticon.blogspot.com

but what really made me curious and excited at the same time is how the critics went crazy over a "not so hyped" summer movie which trailer I can't possibly understand, no matter how many times I watched it... so going out to the cinema and spending my money on this movie was pretty much experimental...

But it was a really good experiment..

To sum it up..

my hypothesis was "bad" and the result was "awesome"!

I was literally left in awe at how a movie with a whole bunch of unknown casts could be this good!

The only famous thing about this is the name Peter Jackson (whom we all known... and loved from the LOTR trilogy) but that's just about it...

And the most interesting thing is the fact that the whole movie was in Johannesburg and for the first time a history an alien movie that is neither in the US, Japan or space...

This movie probably has one of the most original plot ever and it took a really big risk, making an alien movie that portrays aliens as pretty much an endangered species used in human experiments...

It is also packed with emotions and actions... showing its viewers the feelings when a normal person's life is changed drastically and his struggle to keep himself sane as he is forced to witness the down side of human power over other creatures...

Though this movie is pretty predictable and has its downsides... it's still a good treat after rows and rows of disappointment in summer movies which i will review in my free times...

and one thing for sure.. I will definitely add this movie to my favourites and DVD list...

Movie Review 6 : Star Trek (2009)

I'm so gleaming with excitement now that I don't really know how to start but I'll do my best...

/wahaha

So let's get on board to the review of one of the best movie of 2009 to date...

Here we go

I'm not a huge fan of sci fi but I don't deny that there are several sci fi movies in the past that managed to capture my attention. The first one being Star Wars, then Stargate, next was Battlestar Gallactica and now I am officially a Star Trek fan!

I've gotta say that I might have not watch this movie if it wasn't for the ratings. This is because I could remember making fun of Star Trek as a child and mainly because I'm a Star Wars fan (please take not that I'm still a fan... hence the usage of "am") . But when the film was released about a month ago and the critics went crazy over it, I suddenly found myself eagerly waiting for its release in Indonesia...

And after a long wait... I finally found myself watching the movie and my my... what a treat is has become after a long week of exams for me...

I guess I could sum the whole experience up with 2 words

WORTH IT

It's worth the over two hours I spent watching it, it's worth every Rupiahs I spent on it, and totally worth every bit of my energy considering that I have a flu right now...

The plot is just spectacular (I've never used this word to describe anything before)

The way the story develops just left me craving for more... The thrill, suspense, excitement and drama blend in perfectly together to create a mixture of sheer pleasure... The suspense just left me breathless, the dramas left me with emotions that I can't explain and the whole thing just left me in awe... And the best part of all is the fact that this movie has no anti climax that can make you drift away for a while... it will glue you to your seats from the beginning to end!

The scripts are also amazing...

The correct mixture of sarcasm, humor, advices and arrogance within the moments of turbulence is a sign of total genius...

What's better is the fact that the script writers didn't crammed to much sci fi info into the movie which makes it suitable for those who doesn't even know what Star Trek is... the non sci fi fans can totally enjoy this movie without confusing themselves with facts that fans know... this is definitely what keeps this movie apart from Star Wars which requires a certain knowledge for its viewers to enjoy...

The casts are perfect too...

Chris Pine is definitely a treat for my eyes. He played his part as Jim Kirk with just the right dosage of stubbornness, annoyance, sarcasm and arrogance that will leave viewers falling head over heel for him (at least I did /blush)...

Zachary Quinto is totally amazing as Spock (how he managed to act as someone who only looked emotionless just to surpressed what he truly feels) and he looked exactly like Leonard Nimoy which will satisfy any original Star Trek fan.

And gosh I'm so in love with Anton Yelchin! His portrayal as Chekov is simply adorable and memorable... His Russian accent and teen excitement definitely contributed to the funny parts of this movie...

Effects and soundtracks complete this list of awesomeness

The graphics of this movie will not dissapoint you and how I wish I could watch this in 3-D. The effects are just amazing and the soundtracks totally blew me off my seat! They are just perfect for a thrill ride...

In conclusion...

I would give this movie the great 9.9/10 (I wanted to give full marks but I guess there's gotta be some flaws that I didn't notice) and for those of you who don't think that this movie is worth watching... think again... and I dare you to prove me wrong...

For now...

Live Long and Prosper

The Latest Concept~

Just recently my family found out about me having a blog and despite my protest, they decided to read it. My mum was really impressed with my post regarding her birthday - mainly because she was touched and of course excited with the idea of her picture and stories published throughout the web. And she encourages me to write more.

But then I started reviewing and being someone who doesn't watch the same shows as I did, my mum's enthusiasm slowly grows south. So now I've decided to change the concept of my blog. I'll still do the reviewing of videos, movies and series but about twice a week I'll post stories about my life here. Not in the diary kind of way but rather as updates for my family.

These new "updates" will of course involve my ramblings about things that you might not want to know... So, you don't have to read them if you don't want to... /nobigdeal

But my review business will still go on as usual and I hope you'll keep reading my blog for these... /please

P.S. I'm supposed to write a review today but unfortunately I still have two exams on Monday... So I guess my break is going to be longer than expected... sorry for that...

Movie Review 5 : Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian

I was generally hyped with excitement when I heard that there's gonna be a sequel to one of my favorite all time movies Night at the Museum. I had always thought the critics were being illogical about the ratings of this movie but then again... what else can critics do... /nobigdeal

So when I heard that this sequel also had bad ratings from the critics, I thought well here we go again... an injustice to a "might be" good movie and decided to hit the theater...

And the critics were proven

RIGHT

I was utterly disappointed with the outcome of this movie and thought that it had done no justice whatsoever to the beloved first movie. The plot is just rubbish... I mean come on... let's face it... who would go from a millionaire to a night guard at a museum?? That's just a big BS for me...

This movie also lacked of emotions unlike the first one which is what made this movie magical in the first place. The chemistry between actors were also totally put to waste in this failed attempt to overachieve something...

The only thing I found entertaining was probably 60% of the jokes. There were some funny parts throughout the movie but there were also some bad joke moments. I mean... when will Hollywood learn that the generation nowadays are sick of these cheesy stupid jokes (such as those movie parodies franchise). What ever happen to the talented writers who could produce intelligent jokes out of stupid things (isn't that what Hollywood comedy is all about??)...

I guess my rambling is almost done now (I don't want to be one of those critics /XD) but I guess my sudden burst of angst is totally the result of pure frustration... So I'm going to give this a 5 out of 10...

Criminal Minds Season 4 Finale!

Criminal Minds has reached the end of its fourth season last Wednesday with another mind blowing case and a cliff hanger which left me anxious for the next season...

The case is developed into one of the most disturbing thing I've seen in Criminal Minds.

The unsub took the victims to his pig farm and hammered the back of their necks to paralyze them. He then drained the spinal fluid from the victims and chopped their bodies into tiny pieces before leaving the remains for his pigs to devour... /shock

Disturbed??
I know I was...

Following the lead of an abandon car use to transport the victims and the profile... the team went to a pig farm belonging to a man called Mason Turner who turned out to be quadriplegic...

It turns out that Mason was using his mentally challenged brother, Lucas to do experiments on his victims for his stem cell research /shock

I love Rossi in this scene
Garcia shocked with the findings of the experiment details

A stem cell research at a pig farm conducted by a mentally challenged person... isn't that something that's doomed to fail from the very start??

The team then found another disturbing evidence (or should I say evidences) which is a pile of the victims shoes... all 89 pairs of them! /shock

This case also portrayed Kelly... one of the best victim in CM ever... she's the last girl to be abducted and the only one survived... her intelligence on survival and how she treated Lucas clearly made her a hero in this...
The case ended with both unsubs dead... Lucas was shot during Kelly's rescue mission and Mason was murdered by William (the man who brought this case to highlights in the first place) to avenge his sister's murder...

But the essence of these two episodes is definitely at the final monologue scene...

/no

I nearly went nuts from that final part... mainly because Aaron Hotchner is my favorite of all the team members... But I do believe that he's going to survive this and I will make a post solely dedicated to this topic soon...

Overall... although things might seemed a little bit exagerrated in this case... I enjoyed it nonetheless... I would give this a deserving 9.0/10...

Americal Idol Crowned!

It was an amazing finale to end an amazing season last night and boy the show was amazing...

The top artists who came and perform with the Top 12 finalists just made me scream for more...

Besides... Jason Mraz was there performing too!!
/XD

And after the record breaking 100 millions votes...
/omg

The new American Idol was crowned!

KRIS ALLEN

I totally love the bond between Kris and Adam...

And Kris is such a humble person...
The only thing he could say for his winning speech was "Adam deserves this"...

Well Kris...
The crown is yours and you should wear it high because no matter who won last night...
Both of you deserved to be there!

Congratulations Kris Allen!
